Dymo Label Maker Frequently Asked Questions

a. Why is my Dymo not printing?

Find out why your Dymo label maker isn’t printing by checking the printer “Status” from your computer. If the status is “Offline”, right-click on the printer and start the system troubleshooting. Follow the troubleshooting recommendations to fix the issue. It may also be due to a print queue error. Double-click your Dymo Printer to determine if there’s a print queue problem. Select every paused document and click “Resume” to fix the error.

You can also get your Dymo LabelWriter back online by uninstalling the printer driver and then reinstalling it again. First, switch off the machine and then unplug its USB cable. Next, open the Windows Start Menu and click on Devices and Printers > Printers / Printers and Faxes. Find and right-click your Dymo Printer icon and then click Remove Device or Delete. Click on Yes or Ok, and your PC will begin deleting the printer driver.

Plug back the USB into the Dymo printer and an installation window will instantly appear on your screen. Complete the on-screen instructions to reinstall the printer driver. Your printer should now be able to start printing Dymo compatible labels.

b. How do I connect my Dymo printer to WIFI?

Connect your Dymo printer to a W-Fi network by pressing the WPS button on the back of the machine. The wireless status light at the side of the label maker will start glowing. Next, long-press your router’s WPS button for two minutes. Once its status light turns on and stops glowing, you can now print wirelessly with your Dymo printer.

c. Can Dymo print barcodes?

Printing barcodes from your Dymo LabelWriter printer is fast and easy with the Dymo Label Software (DLS). The label software from Dymo comes free when you buy a new Dymo barcode printer. Launch the DLS from your computer, select your label size, and then drag a barcode onto it. Double-click your barcode to access its properties and configure its settings based on your preferences. You’ll find different sizes and other options that let barcode texts appear above or below, and more.

d. Does Dymo work with Mac?

Dymo LabelWriters printers can work flawlessly with Mac computers and other Mac devices. Setup your Dymo printer on a Mac device by connecting the thermal printer through USB. Click on the Apple Menu at the upper left corner of your screen and then select > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Click the add button (+) below the Printers window and then select Add Printer or Scanner. Find and select your Dymo LabelWriter printer from the Add Printer or Scanner. Click Ok and you can start printing Dymo compatible labels from your Mac device.
